Blakiston & Crabb is a boutique law firm, limiting its practice to a number of the key areas thereby allowing the firm to provide advice to the very highest standard in these chosen fields. This enables clients to benefit from the Firm's knowledge and experience and ensures that the lawyer with whom a client is dealing is providing advice in areas in which they have both experience and an interest. Where issues arise requiring specialist advice outside the usual experience of the Firm, clients are advised of this and suitably qualified external practitioners are recommended to provide the necessary advice in a cost-effective manner. In these circumstances, the Firm may continue to oversee the matter if the client wishes, otherwise a direct relationship is formed between the external practitioner and the client.

Since its establishment, this approach to practising law has seen the Firm grow from a sole practitioner through to its current structure. Supporting the legal personnel is a dedicated and experienced secretarial and administrative team.

The Firm strives to maintain a strong relationship with its clients, and to adopt a pro-active approach to practice, often becoming involved at the deal structuring stage. The Firm's approach is to provide commercially orientated advice and to assist clients to try and find commercial solutions to disputes before moving to litigation. This is not always achievable and so the Firm provides litigation and alternative dispute resolution services.
